LGBTQIA+ Affinity Group. This call is a member-led group open to all childhood bereavement professionals who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. This ensures a confidential and brave space within the larger body of NACG membership for members of this community to speak and participate openly in sharing experiences relating to gender identity and sexuality as it connects to our work in childhood bereavement. Calls are scheduled on a regular basis, and you will receive an invite ahead of the scheduled call. This call is scheduled to meet on the first Wednesday of every other month at 1:00pm ET.   To register your interest in joining the call, complete THIS form.

Neurodiverse Affinity Group. This call is a member-led group open to all childhood bereavement professionals who identify as neurodivergent. Our Neurodivergent Affinity Group is a welcoming space where we come together to share experiences, celebrate strengths, and discuss the unique challenges and perspectives that neurodivergence brings. The group fosters connection, mutual support, and advocacy. Whether you want to share strategies, learn from others, or simply spend time in a community where you can be yourself, you are welcome here. Discussions are participant-led, and topics range from workplace accessibility and self-advocacy to daily living hacks and creativity. This call is scheduled to meet every other month on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 12:00pm ET. To register your interest in joining the call, complete THIS form. 

PoC Affinity Group. This call is a member-led group open to all childhood bereavement professionals who identify as persons of color. The PoC Affinity Group connects people of color within the childhood bereavement field with each other. It ensures a confidential and brave space within the larger body of NACG membership for members of color to speak and participate openly in sharing experiences relating to race and ethnicity as it connects to our work in childhood bereavement. Calls are scheduled on a regular basis, and you will receive an invite ahead of the scheduled call. Latine/Latinx Affinity Group. The Latine/Latinx Affinity Group is a member-led space for childhood bereavement professionals who identify as Latine/Latinx to come together, build community, and connect with others who share aspects of our cultural, lived experiences in our language. This space will be hosted in English, Spanish and anywhere in between because we know some things can’t be translated. This is a confidential and brave space within the larger NACG membership where members can show up authentically, learn from one another, and support each other in the work of childhood bereavement. Together, we can explore how our cultural identities, histories, communities, and experiences shape the way we understand and support children, families, and one another. Whether you are looking to build connections, share resources and experiences, find encouragement, or simply spend time with others who understand, this group is an opportunity to strengthen our community and remind one another that we do not have to do this work alone. The group meets every other month on the third Friday at 12:00 p.m. ET. We will share an invitation and call information ahead of each scheduled gathering.

Grupo de Afinidad Latine/Latinx. El Grupo de Afinidad Latine/Latinx es un espacio liderado por sus propios miembros para profesionales que trabajan en el campo del duelo infantil y se identifican como Latine/Latinx. Es una oportunidad para reunirnos, crear comunidad y conectar con otras personas que comparten aspectos de nuestras experiencias culturales y vivencias, en nuestro propio idioma. Este espacio se ofrecerá en inglés, español y todo lo que exista entre ambos, porque sabemos que hay cosas que simplemente no se pueden traducir. Este es un espacio confidencial y valiente dentro de la comunidad más amplia de miembros de NACG, donde podemos presentarnos de manera auténtica, aprender de unas personas a otras y apoyarnos mutuamente en nuestro trabajo con el duelo infantil. Juntos podemos explorar cómo nuestras identidades culturales, historias, comunidades y experiencias influyen en la manera en que comprendemos y apoyamos a niños, niñas, familias y a quienes nos rodean. Ya sea que quieras crear nuevas conexiones, compartir recursos, experiencias, encontrar apoyo, ánimo, o simplemente pasar tiempo con personas que te comprenden, este grupo es una oportunidad para fortalecer nuestra comunidad y recordarnos mutuamente que no tenemos que hacer este trabajo a solas. Networking Calls

A huge benefit of your membership is the bi-monthly member calls. On these calls, the conversation is open to ask questions of other members. These calls are always overflowing with great conversations and different perspectives. Whatever help you need or situations you’re running into, bring it to the call.

Connection among members is a core part of the NACG’s work. Building a supportive, engaged community helps strengthen us as professionals and organizations. In 2026, we’re adjusting the timing of our connection calls to make participation easier and moving to every other month. We hope this new sequence will allow you to plan to join us!

Leadership Networking Call

These calls will take place on the second Monday, every other month: March 9, May 11, September 14, and November 9 and December 14 in 2026. This call is appropriate for those who are the lead person in their organization (Executive Director, CEO, etc.)

Membership Networking Call

These calls will take place on the second Monday every other month: February 9, April 13, August 10, October 12, and December 14 in 2026. This call is appropriate for all members, and multiple representatives from organizations are welcome.  We have general group discussions and often switch to functional groups.

Committees

The National Alliance for Children’s Grief has several committees that help drive the work of the alliance. Committees are utilized to provide expertise and experience on a variety of topics. We would be honored to have members join a committee, as together we can strengthen the work we do!

Development Committee
The Development Committee assists the organization in exploring both fundraising and friend-raising in development opportunities and fundraising activities. The committee meets quarterly for one hour.

Education Committee
The Education Committee works to bring the very best educational opportunities to the NACG membership. The committee is invited to make recommendations regarding education opportunities and needs related to the field of childhood bereavement. The committee meets quarterly for one hour.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee helps to grow the NACG Alliance by expanding individual/organizational enrollment, membership benefits, and the development of initiatives that engage members in awareness of NACG’s mission. Committee members serve as a resource in support of the Symposium, community outreach, and awareness campaigns. The committee meets quarterly for one hour.

Ad-Hoc Committees

These committees have specific roles and are on an application basis. NACG will send out member communications when applications are being accepted.

Continuing Education Advisory Council (CEAC) Committee
The purpose of the CEAC of NACG is to promote, coordinate, and evaluate the development of the organization’s continuing education initiatives and offerings. To apply, you must be a NACG member in good standing, have earned a fully independent professional license in your field (per the requirements of the member’s state of residence), have experience in the field of childhood bereavement, and commit to serving a two-year term. We will send a member email when we are accepting applications.

Symposium Committee
Committee members play an important role in reviewing presentation proposals to ensure that the symposium reflects the NACG’s mission, vision, and values while offering high-quality, relevant, and diverse content for attendees. The requirements to join this committee are that you are a NACG member and have attended at least 2 symposiums.

NACG Workgroups

Workgroups provide a wonderful opportunity to share their expertise and experience in our field. An array of topics are explored, so there is an opportunity to engage in a variety of subject areas.

• Workgroups are time-limited, which is an easier commitment for many.
• Workgroups have a specific purpose with an output. Workgroups allow members to see a project from beginning to end.
• Workgroups provide an opportunity to contribute to a product and reflect a sense of accomplishment. Contributors are cited in the resources that are developed.
• Workgroups need specific representation in skills, knowledge base, field representation, and diversity. The workgroup format allows for the rotation of members to share their expertise and representation.
