Grief and Sadness

Psychologist and author George Bonanno from Columbia University is interviewed about his book The Other Side of Sadness.  He talks about the media myth around the stages of grief.  He states that, "We don't see anything remotely like stages" of grief in real life.

According to the MISS Foundation, more than 120,000 children die every year in the United States. Of those, more than 80% die before their first birthday.  The MISS Foundation is a nonprofit corporation committed to helping families discover hope and eventually heal from the trauma of a child's death.

Their main focus is to support families after the death of a very young child, or infant or pregnancy loss.  They have a companion site with support available in Spanish.
