The Bereavement Services department of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center provides bereavement support to families who experience the death of a child or young adult.  Bereavement services are provided through StarShine Hospice, our pediatric hospice program, integrated into the Palliative Care Team and part of the overall services provided throughout the medical center.

Companions on a Journey Grief Support (COJ) is open to anyone who grieves the death of a loved one.  COJ provides over 35 grief specific support groups assisting every type of loss including; spouse, parent, sibling, child, infant (including miscarriage), friends and those whose loved ones who had died by suicide and murder.

Cornerstone of Hope Bereavement Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, education and hope to grieving people of all ages   All of our programs are facilitated by Master’s level, licensed clinicians.  Services include: individual counseling, art therapy, twenty different support groups that meet weekly (ie – kids groups, infant loss groups, military loss groups, accidental overdose groups, murder loss groups, suicide loss groups and more).  In addition, we host 4 children’s grief camps in the summer, as well as monthly programing for bereaved families.  We hold programs for National Infant Loss Day, Children’s Grief Awareness Day, National Hospice Month, and other evemts. Our camps and groups are all offered free of charge.

In addition to our office in Cleveland, we provide services at two urban community centers  Please call the main Cleveland number to access those locations.
