Camp Erin is a free, weekend bereavement camp for youth who are grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. CaringMatters, a nonprofit, community-based organization founded in 1989, provides social, emotional, and practical support, free of charge, for children, adults and families facing serious illnesses and grief. Our specialized grief support programs for children, families and schools include:

Good Grief Clubs – school and community-based peer support groups for grades K-12
Camp Erin - weekend camp experience for grieving children, ages 6-17
Family Nights - multi-family program offering art/dinner gatherings ahead of major holidays to help grieving families connect and honor their loved ones
Parenting While Grieving Online Workshop Series – includes the practice of essential parenting skills within the context of a grieving family
Consultation, training, support and collaboration available for families, schools, social services organizations and other allied professionals

We also offer grief support for adults through the following programs:

Adult grief peer support groups, Bereaved caregiver workshops, a Bereaved caregiver retreat, online caregiver support groups, Volunteer Helping Hands (non-medical volunteer support for individuals with a serious, life-limiting illness), The Whole You (a program in partnership with The Aquilino Cancer Center helping adults being treated for cancer or other blood disorders and their families, by providing assistance accessing social support services and other community resources.
