Presentation Description

This workshop will discuss the establishment of a Grief Work Network in your local community. Success stories as well the challenges of bringing colleagues together in a supportive environment will be shared. Recruitment, membership, educational opportunities, and how to keep the group together are just few of the topics that will be addressed. Membership in this type of peer group can be one way to take care of yourself and to mend your body, mind and spirit in order to survive and grow as a bereavement specialist in your local community.

About the Presenter

Jan Borgman, MSW, LISW-S, FT is the Bereavement Manager for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and a Fellow in Thanatolgy. Jan has over 25 years of experience in providing individual, family and group counseling for those dealing with issues of grief and loss. She is a frequent presenter for local, regional and national organizations and has presented at the national conferences for the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC); National Alliance for Grieving Children, (NAGC); Association for Oncology Social Workers (AOSW); and for the Society for Social Work Leaders in Health Care (SSWLHC).

Objectives

Learning Objective One: Identify the need for support and education among providers of bereavement services.

Learning Objective Two: Relate the benefits of networking with area providers.

Learning Objective Three: Provide resources to develop a grief network.

Continuing Education

CE Learning Systems, LLC:APA - The National Alliance for Grieving Children's continuing education co-sponsor, CE Learning Systems, LLC, is approved by American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CE Learning Systems maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

ASWB - CE Learning Systems, (Provider #1020), is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of State Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education ACE program.  ASWB Approval Period: 02/23/2013 - 02/23/2016.  Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval.  Social workers participating in this course will receive 1.5 clinical continuing education clock hours.NBCC  - Co-sponsorship approval is pending

CE Process: MFT's, Counselor's, and Psychologists

CE Certificate and Evaluation Process

MFT's: If you are a  MFT, a continuing education certificate for the event you attended be obtained using the website, CE-Go. 

Approximately 3 days after the conclusion of the event, you will receive an email link to CE-Go (This link will be sent to the email account you used to register for the event).

 Upon accessing the CE-Go website, you will be able to:

  • Complete an evaluation forms for the event you attended
  • Download your continuing education certificate in a PDF format

Social Workers: To earn continuing education for webinar events, Social Workers must complete an exam.

 Approximately 3 days after the conclusion of the event, you will receive an email link to CE-Credit.com where you will have the opportunity to complete an exam and print out your certificate.
